| We'll start the tour off at the lobby entrance to our facility. In order to gain access to the facility, you must first begin by showing your identification card to the security personnel. All full-time students have automatic access with their identification cards. Part-time students, faculty, staff, and community members can purchase memberships for a nominal fee. | ![]() |
| Once inside the lobby of the building, go through the double doors, take a right and wow...you're in Guyer Gymnasium. As part of the renovation of the facility in the Fall of 1997, Guyer Gymnasium was transformed to a bio-channel floor. The floors get plenty of use now with Open Gym, Athletic Practices, Happy Hour, Special Events, Intramurals, and Extramural Tournaments constantly on-going! |
| Keep walking to the end of the building and you will happen upon Greer Fieldhouse. Just to give you a little history...before the renovation, the entire facility was known as the Fieldhouse. Now, the Fieldhouse is just one part of the larger Student Recreation Facility. The Fieldhouse houses the 3 lane indoor track, and three multi-purpose courts inside the track. The track is a 200 meter track with rubberized flooring. The Table Tennis tables are also stored here, and many a night, you will see some pretty good table tennis players swinging away in this area of the facility. | ![]() |
| Now let's take a walk back to the other end of the building. Starting back at the entrance, go through the double doors and take a left into the first of two identical weight rooms. This, the East Side Weight Room, has pretty much all the free weight equipment and plate loaded machines you will ever need. There's even mirrors so you can check yourself out periodically during your workout. |
| Taking a walk upstairs, the area directly above the East Side Weight Room is Fitness East. This is the area with all the cardiovascular equipment, including crosstrainers, treadmills, bikes, steppers, and multi-station machines. Just as there are 2 identical weight rooms, there are also 2 identical Fitness Areas. Both overlook the beautiful 6 lane pool. | ![]() |
| Joining the two Fitness Areas is the Selectorized Room. Whether you want to work your abs, chest, hamstrings, quads, glutes, or back...this area has it all. There's even two water fountains in case you work up a thirst! |
| Here's a little photo of the Fitness West Area...remember, the one that looks just like Fitness East! In case the facility is busy, and the machine that you want to get on is full, just saunter on over to the other Fitness Area and you'll be able to find the machine you're looking for. | ![]() |
![]() | Probably one area of the Student Recreation Facility that you will utilize the most...the EQUIPMENT CAGE. Here you will find anything you need to have an enjoyable workout. There's towels, balls, locks, racquets, and even a friendly face to greet you! Just leave your identification card when you check out equipment, and get it back when you return the equipment. |
| Five racquetball courts and two squash courts line the back of the facility upstairs. These courts can be reserved on an hourly basis by calling or stopping in at the equipment cage and giving your name and phone number. You don't even need your own equipment, you can borrow it from us! | ![]() |
| Just thought you would like to see the other weight room, Weights West. This weight room usually stays closed until Weights East fills up with people. Of course, during the course of the semester...there are quite a few peple working out, so Weights West is usually open. Weights West is situated directly underneath Fitness West. |
| Brundage Pool is the last stop on our tour. This 6-lane 25 meter pool is open whenever the facility is open. There is always a lifeguard on duty whenever the pool is open. The pool is only available for use by members of the facility, and is also open on Saturday mornings for parent/child swim. Sometimes you'll see some snorkels, fins, and masks in the pool...but that's only during SCUBA classes! | ![]() |
